Jackets for Goalposts

This is a story about an ordinary boy growing up in a small Scottish town called Banff. The story captures the struggles of childhood and the adventures that would define the character he grew into. There are many stories like mine, but it’s only when you take your time and put pen to paper, then you begin to realise the great times you had. ‘Life is what you make it’

Reviews

Loved the book – full of great anecdotes about his varied life in and around Banff. Also tales of local notables or as he says Legends which had me nearly in tears. Certainly got a way with words has young Ron.
The book although full of laughs it has a serious side too, when he goes to Africa and here his humanity and caring attitude shines through. He had laughs and enjoyed himself but you can read that Africa had a profound effect on him and changed his attitude to life.

A rip-roaring first time effort from this young new author. Jam packed full of stories, wind ups and rootles set in Banff. An easy read, sure to have you chuckling and occasionally squirming. Looking forward to Volume 2.” by James W McLeay
